Hello Alexander Oscarsson, tell us a bit about your company.

– We at Östlunds Entreprenad i Mellansverige AB are a contracting company from Uppsala that offers contracting, excavation, lifting, and construction transport. Our 30-35 employees work throughout Uppsala and Stockholm with assignments from major clients such as NCC, Peab, and Skanska, as well as large and small projects of our own in the earthworks sector.

What was the background to your search for a digital project tool?

– We were going to get a job with the new subway in Hagastaden in Stockholm. There was a requirement that the project be completely paperless, something the larger clients are increasingly moving toward. That’s when we started looking at apps.

Why did you choose Byggdagboken specifically?

– Since I’m from Ljusdal and knew some people at Byggdagboken, we naturally wanted to test their product. The app also seemed so simple and user-friendly for my guys, so that definitely sealed the deal.

How smoothly did the onboarding go?

– We received excellent help via a Teams meeting with their experts, where we were divided into smaller groups that got to test the app. Some needed a bit more guidance and others less. But overall, it went faster than I thought to get the whole crew up and running.

What has your service experience been like?

– They always respond immediately and help with everything; truly excellent support. We are completely satisfied.

Which features do you use today?

– In the beginning, we only used the equipment report, but then we’ve added more and more features. And it has been very easy and flexible to expand, so today we use the diary, time report, equipment report, work orders, and quality controls in the app. This is probably our ultimate setup, but you’re constantly learning to work more efficiently in the system.

How has Byggdagboken changed your workdays?

– It’s primarily the simplicity of just opening the computer and retrieving all the hours and emailing all the clients. Previously, we actually drove around collecting delivery notes, time reports, and diesel costs. If something goes wrong now, it’s much easier to correct. The guys don’t have to do as much because now all projects are pre-entered, which means they have more time for their work.
