Berg & Väg i Strängnäs AB, founded in 2018, has quickly become a well-known name in groundwork throughout the Stockholm area and Strängnäs. The company specializes in everything from foundation work to more detailed stonework and terrace construction. However, behind the physical work lies a considerable amount of administration, something that the company’s CEO Åke and their finance manager Ewy have had their challenges with.
Hello Åke and Ewy, tell us what your administration looked like before you started using Byggdagboken?
Åke: Previously, it felt like we were living in the Stone Age with all these loose papers and manual time reports. It was easy for papers to disappear or end up in the wrong vehicle—a real mess that could steal hours from our work.
What made you choose Byggdagboken?
Åke: We actually started passively with Byggdagboken, but after a very informative walkthrough, we realized the app’s potential. That became the starting point for a larger digital transformation.
In what way has this digital solution affected your daily work?
Ewy: It has truly revolutionized our workday. I am employed in finance and administration but work remotely. Previously, Åke scanned handwritten time reports to me, which I in turn attached to the invoice. Now we handle everything from invoice documentation to payroll documentation directly in the app, on a weekly basis. We have replaced piles of paper with digital reports, which saves us several hours every day.
Can you tell us about any specific features you use frequently?
Åke: We primarily use time reports, quotes, and project tracking for comparison between employees and their salary payments. Soon we will also be able to send these for approval directly to our clients.
How user-friendly is the app?
Ewy: It is very simple and intuitive. Everything is easy to understand and manage, which makes it a dream for us who previously struggled with paperwork and manual systems.
